The Scottish Youth Parliament recommends that the Children and Young People’s Rights Action Plan should include a specific action to promote outdoor learning, to guarantee the right to leisure, play and recreational activities through adequate and sustainable funding, and to involve young people in the planning, design and monitoring of these. Furthermore, the Government should undertake a Scotland-specific study on the benefits of outdoor learning on attainment, skills for life and mental health.
